Dermapen

A new and noteworthy skin rejuvenation device has arrived in the war against aging. Meet the Dermapen. It is the size of an oversized pen, but delivers wondrous results. It lessens scars, enlarged pores, and wrinkles. Like Fraxel lasers and dermal rollers, tiny pinpricks are induced, thereby stimulating the skin’s regenerative processes. Collagen and elastin production are upregulated. The  beauty of Dermapen lies in the fact that depth and speed can be controlled and changed throughout the course of a treatment  instantly with a click of the dial depending on the individual’s skin thickness. Another benefit of the Dermapen is that it can be used on all Fitzpatrick types. Fitzpatrick IV-VI have a higher risk of developing hyperpigmentation with more aggressive procedures such as lasers. In fact, many patients that switch to the Dermapen were people who found the pain of lasers to be intolerable. A numbing cream is applied to the skin prior to the procedure and the patient feels minimal discomfort. The Dermapen creates straight pin pricks and acts as a dermal infusion device. Active topicals can be absorbed much more effectively (think 100′s of times more) which is a boon when fighting gravity.  Patients can expect redness, like a sunburn for a day. A firmer and glowier skin can be perceived after one treatment.
